Materialists - You can't negotiate because I don't have anything else to offer you

Lucy is a matchmaker who helps single men and women find true love. Despite her expertise, she struggles with her own love life. Her clients often have high and unusual standards—Sophie is one of them. After a string of unsuccessful dates, Sophie turns to Lucy for help. Lucy advises her to lower her expectations. Sophie reluctantly agrees.

Lucy attends the wedding of two clients she matched. She feels proud because they're well-suited for each other. When the bride hesitates before the ceremony, Lucy asks what makes her love the groom. The bride says he makes her feel special and valuable—something that matters deeply to her. Reassured, she continues with the wedding.

At the reception, Lucy meets Harry, the groom's brother. Harry is what some call a unicorn in the dating world—tall, handsome, wealthy, educated, and single. He's the dream guy for many women. Lucy wants him as a client, but Harry only wants to date her.

Lucy also runs into John, her ex-boyfriend, at the venue. They haven't seen each other in a while, so John offers her a ride after his shift ends. When they part ways, John refuses to come inside Lucy's home. He doesn't want to relive the pain he felt when they broke up years ago.

Harry begins courting Lucy, but she's initially reluctant, because she thinks he deserves someone better. She eventually gives in and they start dating. Meanwhile, Lucy matches Sophie with Mark, another client. The next day, Mark tells her the date went well and he wants to see Sophie again. Lucy tries calling Sophie, but she doesn't pick up. In the office, Lucy's supervisor informs her that Sophie is suing the company because Mark assaulted her. Lucy feels guilty for putting Sophie in danger. She wants to reach out and apologize, but Sophie ignores her.

After learning Lucy wants to visit Iceland, Harry books a trip with her. One night, Lucy discovers that Harry has prepared an engagement ring and has had surgery to extend his height. Harry feels ashamed when she learns his secret. Lucy realizes they aren't meant to be. Harry is a perfect candidate and he's insanely rich, but there's no spark between them. They agree to break up.

Lucy had sublet her home for the Iceland trip with Harry, so she now has nowhere to live. She visits John's home. They drive around and crash a wedding. When John asks if they're getting back together, Lucy feels uncertain. John tells her he has always loved her.

Sophie calls Lucy to say Mark is outside her home. Lucy and John rush to Sophie's place, but Mark has already left by the time they arrive. While Lucy helps Sophie settle down for the night, John waits outside the entire time. Lucy and John rekindle their relationship. John promises to work hard to give Lucy financial stability.

The story ends with Lucy receiving a promotion at work and John proposing to her with a flower ring.
